The 2010 Festival will run from 28 August to 5 September!

The world famous Largs Viking Festival takes place every year in Largs, Ayrshire, Scotland, as crowds gather from near and far to celebrate Viking heritage in Largs, notably the Battle of Largs 1263 (the last Viking invasion in the UK).

There are events for all the family throughout the week starting with the opening day parade, opening ceremony and various Viking activities. This years Highlight will be the Sopwith SE5 WW1 biplane and a Scottish Aviation Bulldog performing over largs bay and the RFA Largs Bay anchored just off the largs shore.

The Viking Village can be found on the Promenade and is populated by the Swords of Dalriada who live the Viking life in the village throughout the Festival, where visitors will be enthralled and entertained learning about Viking life (school groups are most welcome).

The week culminates in the spectacular burning of the longship, Viking battle re-enactment and fireworks display at the Pencil Monument in Largs.
